Step 3 - A Didactic for the Dissolution of Lust

Replace Lust with Transmutation

Introduction

This step follows on from the previous step 2, which was about finding the paybacks, rewards or the returns that lust brings to us, and seeing that those paybacks are not what they seem and can be replaced by what the transmutation brings to us.

This step is about deepening applying that understanding.

Everything Lust can do Transmutation can do Better!

We have previously had the ego of lust and the “I’s” that make it up, as the manger or boss of our sexuality and sexual energy. The point in this step is to begin to gradually sack the ego of lust as the manager of our sexuality and have in the end the transmutation and the parts of the Being managing our sexuality and our sexual energy.

Our sexual energy has to become an instrument of the Being used for his work and this is achieved with the dissolution of lust, and the dissolution of lust is achieved by transmuting often and by transmuting well. It is in the end action that defeats lust because itself is action.

Proof

The fundamental point here is that whatever lust can do the transmutation can do and do better. Lust uses the sexual union, so does transmutation, lust moves the sexual energy, transmutation does so too with the exception that it moves it in and up whereas lust moves it down and out, lust marries, transmutation marries but with a superior conscious purpose to work and pay karma with work, lust marries but complicates one’s karma and pays karma with suffering, lust brings pleasure – mostly fleeting, transmutation brings a moral satisfaction and pleasure that is long lasting and is not tainted, lust may make us bold and strong, transmutation takes us closer to the Being the source of force and energy and keeps the energy and force circulating within us, lust brings desire or sexual drive and transmutation keeps the fire glowing within us to the point that all we need to do is to voluntarily activate the magnetic force of the sexual energy to bring in into activity. This is just a sample to show you that whatever lust does the transmutation can do as well, and do even better in a way that it benefits us and others.

Transmutation is to Love

Transmutation is to make the energy to flow toward our Being so it is to pray and it is to love, so don’t worry with transmutation we can love profoundly. We may think that with lust we love, but that is not true with lust we just want to receive and lust does not equal love!

The Key

The key to this step is action and action. The more we use transmutation to replace lust the more we will see that lust is useless in our life and that we don’t need it. Then we are really getting ready to have it eliminated. But to understand this or to get to this point we have to do something we have to act. We have to act!

Summary

Act, act and act by transmuting. Transmute physically which replaces what lust does when it provokes the loss the sexual energy, and transmute psychologically which is to transform or redirect or channel those impulses to give them on a sublimated or higher octave or level to the Being and to receive in return the true happiness of doing something that benefits ourselves and our Being and that is morally correct. No guilt, no shame, no hiding, no fear, no regret, no diminishment etc. but dignity and uprightness, energy, life, love and the Being.

Step 2 - A Didactic for the Dissolution of Lust

Knowing what Lust Brings You

Every ego no matter how small or large brings us something or is useful for some end. Every ego is a mini functionalism of our psychology meaning that every ego is used to do something, to attain something, to bring something etc. to us.

Lust – No Exception

The ego of lust and the other smaller egos of lust are no exception. They all have their payback.

Attached to the Benefits

We are in actual fact, attached to what the ego of lust or the egos of lust bring to us. We may like what they bring to us and we may find what they bring to us as good and useful. We may find what lust brings to us as true, as authentic, as right and as real. We may see what lust brings to us as the only valuable thing in life, or as the only way of doing things related to sexuality.

The reason why we keep lust and the egos of lust alive in us, is because we simply see what it brings us as useful, as good, as nice, as right, as real etc. As soon as we see what lust brings us in a different light, in a true light we will stop believing in the goodness of what lust brings us.

Disclaimer and a Guarantee

I just want to say at this point, that we have to see for ourselves the truth of the ego. We have to gaze at the ego, and what it brings to us, without any lenses and in the light of the truth. If you do, you are going to see that the benefits that the ego brings to you are not what they seem to be, that is they are not really that good in the end, they are not real and they are not correct. This is hard at first to see, but it is a guarantee. Your very own experience will back this up. This is not to brain wash yourself into thinking that the ego is bad and wrong, but it is to experience the ego and what it brings in the light of reality free or beyond the hypnotic grip of the ego of lust.

Hypnosis of Lust

Here lies the problem or hypnosis of lust. We believe in what lust brings us as useful. When we break this hypnosis we have done more than half of the job of eliminating the ego or egos of lust, whichever it happens that we are working on.

Most Difficult of All the Steps

This is by far the most difficult of the five steps. It really requires a lot of work. We have to repeatedly question the belief and perception that the benefits that the ego brings to us are useful, pleasant, beneficial etc. As soon as we see them for what they are, or as they really are (which is not so useful, not so beneficial and expendable) we break free from the hypnotic grip. All we have to do then is to replace that function with the work that is with transmutation (see step 3). An example of this is that lust wants to exhaust the sexual energy and the result is the that the sexual energy is removed or used up to the demise of the person, but transmutation does the exactly same thing but the energy is not wasted it is converted into an energy of higher more spiritual quality and is absorbed by the brain, heart, consciousness and goes to create the internal bodies which are the superior existential bodies of the Being, the very well known astral, mental and causal bodies.

Getting Practical Now – Take Action!

Know the Benefits – Write a List

Write down as honestly as you can all the benefits that the ego of lust brings you. If you find that hard take one small ego of lust and write down the benefits that it brings you. Be very honest, be brutally honest, honest without reservation. Face yourself, see yourself exactly as you are no matter how alarming and ugly you find it. Only by facing it, looking at it and accepting that you have it can you change to be something dignifying devoid of that ugliness.

Are they Real?

Question these beliefs about what the ego brings to you and ask yourself searching for the most honest reply possible as to whether these benefits are really pleasant and good, whether they are real, whether they are correct, whether they are authentic, whether they are needed and whether I can get the same but through a more honest, decent and edifying and dignifying means, one that I don’t have to hide and one that does not disadvantage/harm me or the other spiritually, psychology and physically.

See that what they Bring can be Brought by the Work (Specifically Transmutation)

Ask yourself again as to whether these benefits can be replaced by the work. See that they can and come to the conclusion that lust is not needed when we have the work and the transmutation.

See step 3 for an in depth description of this step.

Summary

Break the hypnotic grip of lust by questioning and questioning the usefulness of what it brings to us and see that these benefits it can be gotten through a different means. A means that this is more edifying and dignifying and therefore we don’t need lust it is redundant.

If we find the means of the work boring and unsatisfying for example, then question that again and again and be very sure that the work and the transmutation is not boring and dissatisfying. I think that you can make the work very interesting and satisfying, when we transfer our interests into the results of the spiritual work we will find the work so very necessary, valuable and interesting to us.

Step 1 - A Didactic for the Dissolution of Lust

Understanding the Role of Lust

Before we embark upon the dissolution of any ego we have to come to an understanding of it. An important of the understanding of any ego is the comprehension of the role it plays in our life and the benefits that it brings to us (which is really why we use it or keep it alive in our psychology).

Before we get into that it is useful to cover some grounds regarding the hidden meaning of the ego, which is intimately related to the function and role the ego has and plays in our life.

Hidden Meaning of the Ego

Each ego or “I” has, as Master Samael tells us a secret or hidden meaning, that is only revealed to the person in the final stages of the dissolution of an ego. Master Samael also says that a person may even dissolve an ego without knowing the hidden meaning, the danger in that is that because the person does not know the hidden meaning he or she may recreate the same ego in the future, perhaps in another life or Mahamanvantara.

In summary the hidden meaning of an ego is the deepest truth behind its creation or reason of existing. Each ego hides many truths but beyond that there is the hidden truth as to why it exists or is created in human beings, and that is the hidden meaning of the ego.

Hidden Meaning of Lust

I am fortunate to have a wonderful friend who is very advanced in the work and in good faith, he revealed to us something about the hidden meaning of the ego of lust. He had told us that it could well be that lust acts as a brake or a stop to prevent men (human beings) from knowing the profound mysteries of the creation and the cosmos and becoming Gods. The ego of lust is there to prevent one form lifting the Adamic veil or the veil that hides the mysteries.

This makes a lot of sense, because with lust the human being is led to ejaculate the seminal entity which leads to a very grave spiritual fall, such a fall that takes us further away from the Being (Divinity), which is the same as to be taken further away from knowing the mysteries and the possibility of becoming a God (or rather fusing with ones; inner God).

Role of the Ego of Lust - On the Human Level

Descending now to the human level, the role or function of lust is to manage our sexuality and sexual energy. As Master Samael says every ego is a function of psychology, so we have the defect of lust and its many “I’s” to manage our sexual energy and use our sexual energy in the many different circumstances of life. Lust has become the manager of our sexuality and sexual energy. Our goal is actually to sack the ego of lust as the manager of our sexuality and sexual energy and employ the esoteric work and the consciousness instead as the new mangers.

Basically, that is what lust is, it is a controller or manager of our sexual energy. It in the end, is only interested in having the sexual energy consumed. Why? Because, that is what nature and the kundabuffer demand. Yes, the kundabuffer and nature has much to do with the way the sexual energy is used.

The most common ways in a human being, in which the sexual energy gets consumed is when the ego of lust or egos of lust take/s control of the centres of the human machine. When the ego or egos of lust are in control they produce the loss of the sexual energy physically (ejaculation, orgasm etc.) or burn it up using fantasy. Both are unconscious means of using the sexual energy that do not benefit the essence or the consciousness, nor the psychology or physical body of the human being. However by doing this, lust fulfils its role which is to do something with (use up) the sexual energy, before it builds up to a level that nature resents it, and the body can not handle.

Just something on the side if there is too much sexual energy built up in the body, the sexual energy begins to decay in the body and this has ramifications in the sexuality, mind and personality of the person. This is known as the venonoskirian (Spanish) or poisonoskirian (English) vibrations. This explains why transmutation is the key, because it does not allow the build-up of sexual energy, it transforms it and moves it into our spiritual constitution. Lust on the other hand just takes the energy out of the body where it can not be used for anything at all, or uses lust uses it in fantasy.

The Role of the Egos or “I’s” of Lust

The other egos of lust actually are there to procure the same end (consummation of the sexual energy), but through the diverse circumstances of life.

They for example, may only manifest in certain circumstances of life. For example, the ‘Don Juan’ “;I”, is a particular ego of lust that moves in the high or decent circles of society that uses many kind and romantic words and promises in all in the end to end up losing the sexual energy. Once that goal is reached the ‘Don Juan’ “I” forgets its promises and moves on to the next person.

There is the “I” of sexual fantasy, the “I” of pornography which is an intellectual aspect of lust that is used in the situations when no person of the opposite sex is available or attainable, its goal in the end is to have the same sexual energy consumed, not by losing the seminal entity but by using it up intellectually. There is the “I” of lust that fulfils the function of making new friends of the opposite sex, the “I” that seduces, the “I” that completes the sexual act, the “I” that loses the seminal entity, the “I” that uses the word to speak lustfully etc. etc.

All the “I’s” of lust make transactions with each other all with the one goal of having he sexual energy consumed one way or the other.

Summary

The ego/s of lust are really egos of sexuality whose role or function is to manage our sexuality in the diverse circumstances of life with the one goal of making sure the sexual energy is consumed. These egos are particularly active when the sexual energy has accumulated to a high level in the body, why, because nature needs, by the law of entropy, that this high potential energy source be brought down to a lower potential.

A Didactic for the Dissolution of Lust

Introduction

Our intention here with these series of posts is to present a didactic to help in the weakening and dissolution of the ego or egos of lust. We have broken the didactic down into a series of steps. Each post represents a step in the didactic. We sincerely hope that it will be useful to you.

Step 2Knowing What Lust Brings You

Step 3Replace Lust with Transmutation

Step 4Transmute and Trust

Step 5Elimination with the Divine Mother

Please note, the steps above will be given a title as each post is published.

Summary of Steps

The above steps can be summarised by this equation:

Understanding its Role + Knowing its Paybacks + Replace it with Transmutation + Renounce it + Elimination = Death

You can also apply this general formula to any other ego as well, no matter how big or small it is.

Ego, “I’s” and Defects – What’s the Difference?

Ego = “I”

An ego is the same as an “I”. In fact, “Ego” in Greek is “I”. So wherever you see or hear the word “ego” it is the same as “I”.

Many Egos = Many “I’s”

In Gnosis we know that the ego or the ‘I’ is pluralised, that is there are many egos or “I’s”, not just one. So we can say either that we have many egos and or many “I’s” in our psychology.

An ego or an “I” could be small or it could be large, usually in Gnosis the word or term used to describe the structure of all the egos or “I’s” put together is the term “the myself”. Master Samael uses this term quite frequently in his books “The Great Rebellion” and “Treatise of Revolutionary Psychology”.

The “I’s” or egos also fall into groups that is they belong to one or another defect.

A Defect and the Egos or “I’s”

Basically a defect is something much bigger than an “I” or an ego. A defect is a wrong functioning of the essence and it is made up of, or characterized by, or acquires its certain qualities, characteristics and peculiarities by the “I’s” that constitute it.

So for example, anger is a defect and it has many egos or “I’s” that make it up. What is interesting is that each “I” of anger will have the same logic as ,or the same principle as the defect of anger. The only difference is that it will be related to or confined to a certain aspect of life, for example getting annoyed when someone doesn’t speak loud enough or continuously drops something making noise.
